Plot. A documentary crew travels to the Isan region of Thailand to interview Nim, a medium/shaman who claims to be possessed by the spirit of Ba Yan, a local goddess. She had been chosen to be Ba Yan’s host after her sister, Noi, refused to accept the role and converted to Christianity.

The finale of The Medium finds Marianne recounting the events of her life and the game to Thomas’s spiritual doppelganger. He reveals Lilianne is alive as The Maw appears. He says he will delay the monster, but she must go to Lilianne as she’s the only one who can put an end to the nightmare.
