How are Doc Martens supposed to be tied?
Leave the top two eyelets free to give yourself some excess lace, then wrap the two lengths around the back of the boot, through the heel loop, and around to the front again. Tie a firm knot to keep it in place. If you don’t fancy a wraparound, just keep lacing your boots up to the top, and knot.
Should I tie my Doc Martens tight or loose?
You should have a good 4-5 unused lace holes. But still tie them pretty tight. This is going to keep your shoe on and comfortable as you walk.
How do you tie a loose Doc?
Put one end of the lace through one of the bottom eye holes from the underside of the hole. Drag the lace-up and through the top of the opposite side. Return to the bottom portion of the lace. Repeat until your boots are laced to the top.
