How did Archie and Betty survive?

Miraculously, all three survived the explosion; possibly due to the multiverse it created, and the intervention of Jughead’s Rivervale shadow-self. Betty and Archie are somehow completely unscathed by the explosion, but Jughead is not so lucky.
