Can you play ARK with friends only?
Can you play ARK with friends only? Joining the public servers is not the only way one can enjoy this game with their friends in Ark: Survival Evolved. One can also host a server by themselves and then ask their friends to join. It is excellent if you want a private server and do not want any other player to join your game.
How much is an ARK private server?

Can you create your own server in ARK?
If you’re tired of playing on public servers where other people set the rules, consider creating your own ARK server. Once you’re done, you can customize your experience, invite friends, and run things exactly the way you prefer.
Can you play ARK on a solo server?
Yes all my hours have been solo, either in singleplayer or on an MP server but always solo. Perfectly fine way to play if you enjoy that playstyle, which I do. For a new player I suggest you just play the base map or free DLC for starters.
