How much room should you have in heels?
Your heels should have between a quarter to a half-inch of space in front of the longest toe. Many of us have one foot that’s slightly larger than the other, so it’s important to fit your shoes to your biggest foot. If you find your toes are feeling squished after a few minutes, don’t hesitate to go up half a size.
How do you know if your heels don’t fit?
Stand up and make sure there is 3/8″ or 1/2″ (about the width of your finger) between your longest toe (usually the second toe) and the end of the shoe. Always stand and walk around in the shoes to see if they are comfortable, fit well, and don’t chafe or rub anywhere. Your heel should not slip or slide while walking.
Is it better for heels to be too big or too small?
