season 2 will debut in early 2023. Even though we’re already pretty close to that point in time, there still isn’t a more specific date. A second season of What If…? was confirmed as the first was coming out, and it has recently been confirmed to premiere on Disney Plus in 2022 by head writer A.C. Bradley.
Are there only 9 episodes of What If?

Why did they cut an episode of What If?
When plotting the episodes for Marvel’s What If…?, head writer A.C. Bradley had to scrap one when she realized it matched an upcoming movie. Marvel’s What If…? show scrapped an entire episode because it predicted the story for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
