Where did Jade Carey grow up?

Carey was born and raised in Phoenix. Her parents, Brian Carey and Danielle Mitchell-Greenberg, divorced when she was young. Carey began taking gymnastics classes in 2002. She attended Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Arizona, graduating in 2018.

“Growing up in club, I was always alone,” she said. “So I was excited to be part of a team.” Carey had her pick of several prominent gymnastic colleges, but chose OSU because of the coaches. “I knew they would take care of me in a really good way,” she said.

Where is Jade Carey going to college?

“I was pretty sure that, after the Olympics, I was going to be done [with Olympic-level gymnastics] and move on to college,” said Carey, the Olympic floor exercise gold medalist who attends Oregon State. “But I think just that whole [Tokyo] experience in general, I really just wanted to be able to experience it again.”
