Last month, Lakmal announced that he would retire from international cricket at the conclusion of Sri Lanka’s tour of India 2022. Lakmal has played 69 Tests, 86 ODIs and 11 T20 International matches in his international career of more than 12 years since making his ODI debut against India in Nagpur in 2009.
