How much should you size down with Converse?
When buying Converse Chuck Taylor All Star shoes, you’ll want to size down a half size to a full size. If you want a more neutral fit with a bit of room in the toe box, then go a half size down and if you want your shoes to fit more snug, then go a full size down.
Are Converse usually big or small?
It’s quite common that Converse runs half a size bigger. I personally prefer wearing shoes that are half a size bigger anyway because I love to wear thick socks, so I’d say just go for your usual size as the little gap will be needed when you’re wearing socks.
Is it better for Converse to be tight or loose?
Converse should fit comfortably, with a snug feeling that may feel a bit tight at first. Once the Converse are broken in after about 4 or so weeks of wear they will fit a little looser. Converse should not be pinching your toes to the point of pain.
Do Converse get bigger as you wear them?
Converse do stretch over time with wear. Expect to experience the canvas upper stretching and loosening over the course of 4-6 weeks in a new pair of Converse. To speed up the stretching process make sure you properly break in in your Converse using the tips provided in the first section of this article.
