What is the difference between Birko-Flor and leather?
What is the difference between Birko-Flor and leather?
Birko Flor is made from soft acrylic and polyamide felt fibres with a durable, smooth, leather-like finish. In comparison to leather, it is still water-resistant but doesn’t scratch or fade and does not require a break-in period. Birkibuc looks and feels more similar to nubuck leather with a slight nap on the surface.
What is the difference between Birko-Flor and regular?
Birkoflor is synthetic and the straps are felt like underneath. They will not cause rubbing and blisters. Regular leather takes time to break in to become soft. Leather wears and looks a little better.
What is the difference between Birko-Flor and Arizona?
The Arizona is our two-strap sandal with the original cork-latex footbed. The upper is made from the skin-friendly, hard-wearing synthetic material Birko-Flor. Birko-Flor is made of easy-to-care-for and hygienic PVC, which has been lined on the inside with a soft, breathable layer of fleece.
Can Birko-Flor get wet?
Many of our customers think that their Birkenstocks will get ruined if they get wet once or twice in the rain, and this is generally not the case. If you do get caught in the rain in your Birks, fear not! Simply dry them in a shaded place away from any heat sources.
