Nike is a multinational company that is based out of the USA. Like most multinational companies, Nike does not manufacture its products on its own. Instead, it outsources its manufacturing process to vendors located in different countries. These Nike vendors work together with the brand to produce their branded shoes.

China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Malaysia accounted for most of the apparel production. The top five apparel contract manufacturers together accounted for ~34% of NIKE’s apparel production. One apparel contract manufacturer accounted for over 10% of production.
How did Nike start?
It was founded in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports by Bill Bowerman, a track-and-field coach at the University of Oregon, and his former student Phil Knight. They opened their first retail outlet in 1966 and launched the Nike brand shoe in 1972. The company was renamed Nike, Inc., in 1978 and went public two years later.
