Born in Fort Payne, all three original members of Alabama – Jeff, Teddy, and Randy – are cousins. They were only teenagers when they quit their day jobs in 1973 to peruse their passion. At first, they called their band Wildcountry and became favorites at a bar called The Bowery in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
